Surf Lesson FAQ
- Where do surf lessons meet in Pismo Beach?
- All lessons meet 100 feet south of the Pismo Beach Pier. Look out for the All Day Surf sign!
- Do I need any surfing experience?
- No experience required. Most of our students are first-timers. Pismo Beach has soft, beginner-friendly waves that make it one of the best places in California to learn to surf.
- What's included in a surf lesson?
- Board, wetsuit, and instruction from a CPR and First Aid certified coach. Just bring a swimsuit, towel, and water — we cover the rest.
- What ages can take surf lessons?
- All ages are welcome. We regularly teach kids as young as 5 and adults well into their 70s. Our coaches tailor each session to the surfer.
- How long are private and group lessons?
- Private lessons are 1 hour, one-on-one with your coach. Group lessons are 1.5 hours with 2–5 surfers per instructor.
- Do you offer lessons outside of Pismo Beach?
- Yes! While Pismo Beach is our home base, we teach at Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, and the Gaviota Coast. Contact us to arrange a session at your preferred spot.
